6.13.2. Health and Safety

• First Aid equipment to be kept in an identified position
• If possible, designate an isolation / sick room, or other protected area
• Ensure all staff are aware of safety procedures when operating equipment
• Increase attention to good personal hygiene, e.g., frequent hand washing
• Encourage / support staff to stay / work at home if they are unwell

• Appoint, train and publicise recognised staff fire officers
• Place clear notices on fire doors that they are to be kept closed
• Ensure fire extinguishers to be kept on their racks, and not used to prop open doors
• Conduct regular fire drills
